The Living Well Outreach brings mobile showers, clean clothes, haircuts, food, first aid, and a path toward recovery, employment, and identification — straight to the streets of Kansas City, in the name of Jesus Christ.
"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me." Matthew 25:35–36, ESV
Every gift brings the first Living Well mobile shower unit closer to its first outreach night in Kansas City. When it rolls, our neighbors get a private, hot shower — and the dignity that comes with it.
We bring everything with us and go wherever our neighbors already are, so no one has to find their way to us first.
Private, heated shower trailers with soap, shampoo, and fresh towels — because clean water is a basic act of dignity.
Toothbrushes, soap, deodorant, feminine care, and grooming kits handed out fresh at every stop.
Hot meals on-route and take-home grocery bags for the days between our visits.
Seasonally appropriate clothing, coats, socks, and shoes, sorted and sized on-site.
Free haircuts and beard trims from volunteer barbers — often the thing that makes a job interview feel possible.
Basic first aid, wound care, and referrals to partner clinics for anything beyond our scope.
Compassionate listening, prayer, and warm hand-offs to counseling and substance abuse recovery partners.
Hands-on help replacing IDs and Social Security cards, and coaching through job applications and resumes.
The Living Well Outreach is a Christ-centered ministry that brings hot showers, hygiene supplies, haircuts, clean clothing, food, and first aid directly to our unhoused neighbors in Kansas City — and walks alongside them toward recovery, employment, and stable identification. We serve every person who comes to us with dignity, respect, and hope, asking nothing in return, because each one bears the image of God and is worthy of being seen, valued, and loved.
The Living Well Outreach is a registered nonprofit organization. Our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt application is in progress; until the IRS issues our determination letter, gifts are not yet tax-deductible.
That mission shapes everything we do, and it holds us to a few commitments:
"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."
From the downtown skyline to the volunteers packing kits the night before — this is what showing up for Kansas City looks like.
This is the vision we're raising toward: a fully equipped mobile shower unit serving Kansas City, along with the clothing, food, and hygiene supplies that go out beside it. Share it with anyone who might want to help.
$25 covers a hygiene kit. $60 fills a mobile shower with hot water for a full outreach night. $150 helps a neighbor replace a lost ID. Give however works best for you — it’s all handled the same way: with care.
A one-time gift of $60.

One-time gifts let us serve. Monthly gifts let us plan — and planning is what turns an outreach into a route people can count on.
Partners receive a short update each month on where the route went and who it reached. Gifts are not yet tax-deductible while our 501(c)(3) application is in progress.
No experience necessary — just a willingness to show up. We’ll train you on-site and pair new volunteers with an experienced team lead for every outreach night.
